Great Bridge Boulevard Sanitary Sewer Improvements

Body

--Planned Water Service Interruption--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, continues work to replace a sanitary sewer pipeline located along Neal Street and River Creek Road. In coordination with the City of Chesapeake, as part of the ongoing sanitary sewer replacement, Tidewater Utility Construction Inc. will be making improvements to the existing water main at the intersection of Neal Street and River Creek Road. This shutdown is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, between the hours of 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Construction Update:

  • There will be a temporary interruption to your water services, and we ask that you plan and prepare accordingly by stocking any necessary water for the time of the shutdown (9:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13 to 5:30 a.m. Thursday, December 14).
  • This work will take place during the nighttime, and the contractor will need to utilize additional lighting to perform the work at the intersection of Neal Street and River Creek Road.
  • Be aware, traffic patterns will shift and may include road closures and detours to through traffic. Access to homes/businesses will be available.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, crews, and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.

We appreciate your understanding and assistance as we work to improve your sanitary sewer system so we can better protect public health and area waterways.
