Join HRSD and Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation for an informal open house to:

  • Learn about the project design
  • Ask questions and get to know the project team

Come by the open house any time between 6 and 8 p.m.; there will be no formal presentation.

Design workshops will be held in late 2019 and early 2020 for the wheeled sports community to learn more about the skate park features. Comments and suggestions can be sent to projects@HRSD.com.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

HRSD is constructing a 5.2 million gallon offline storage tank in Woodstock Park under a new cutting-edge skate facility. An underground storage tank in this area will reduce the risk of sanitary sewer overflows during heavy rain events by temporarily holding conventional wastewater combined with storm water that migrates into wastewater pipelines until elevated conditions in the pipeline subside.

Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation has partnered with HRSD to complete improvements to the park as a whole including new pavilions, playground equipment, a family restroom, and improved parking.

The park will close on June 3, 2019. We expect to complete the storage tank and park improvements in mid-2021. During the park closure, a temporary dog park will be located at Providence Park, 952 Reon Drive, Virginia Beach.

For more information about the project, please visit www.hrsd.com/woodstock-park or VBgov.com/woodstockpark.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status. Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services (free of charge) should contact the project team at projects@HRSD.com at least seven days prior to the open house.
