HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, invites you to view a virtual presentation to learn more about the Surry Hydraulic Improvements and Sewer Installation project. The project is located in Surry and Isle of Wight counties and the Town of Smithfield and will be completed over four sections:

--South Military Hwy Eastbound Lane Closure--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is working on a project to install a sanitary sewer pipeline along Canal Drive between the intersections of Norfolk Southern Railroad and South Military Highway. While installing sanitary sewer pipe in an eastbound lane on South Military Highway, a temporary lane closure is needed. Traffic control will be in place to alert motorists to the lane closure.

--South Military Hwy Feeder Road Closure & Detour--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is working on a project to install a sanitary sewer pipeline along Canal Drive between the intersections of Norfolk Southern Railroad and South Military Highway. While installing sanitary sewer pipe in the South Military Highway feeder lanes, a temporary road closure is needed, and a detour will be put in place to allow local traffic to pass around the work zone.

HAMPTON – HRSD has been recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), earning the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for HRSD’s Comprehensive Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2019. This is HRSD’s 37th consecutive year of earning the award.

--Work To Begin--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is undertaking a project to inspect and perform maintenance of the internal sanitary sewer piping and valves along Elkhorn Avenue. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. This work can be weather and situation dependent and should not affect your water or sewer services.
