Pump Station Updates:
Concrete placements at the pump station 160 site at 2245 E. Washington Street continues. Approximately 90% of the concrete placement is complete. Regular concrete placement will continue every couple of weeks through June 2026. NOTE: Due to the duration of the concrete placements, these will typically be in the early morning hours.
Backfilling around the pump station is nearly complete. Masonry structural components will begin to be installed in June, followed by the other architectural components. Interior and exterior work will continue through early 2027.
At the Pump Station 159 site near Virgina Ham Drive, the support of excavation systems are being installed for the precast wet well. Underground work will continue through the summer.
Sewer Pipeline Updates:
Sewer pipe installation is now complete in the Cypress Park area and on Kentucky Avenue, Hollywood Avenue, and a portion of East Washington Street. The Cypress Park parking lot and streets have recently been milled, repaved, and restriped.
Crews are installing an 8-inch sewer pipe along 58 Business (Portsmouth Boulevard) between Myrtle Street and Virginia Ham Drive. This work will involve excavation of the roadway to install the pipeline underground, so traffic patterns will shift and will include periodic, temporary lane closures. Access to homes/businesses will be available. This section of work is expected to continue through summer 2026.
Additionally, sewer pipe installation began on the south side of Pump Station 160 (at 2245 E. Washington Street) and will continue East toward the railroad tracks. This portion of the work will continue for several months.
Please see the Project Map for current work areas.
