HAMPTON – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews will be installing sanitary sewer pipelines on Woodland Road between William R. Harvey Way and West County Street as part of the Phoebus Area Sanitary Sewer Extension project. During this work, motorists can expect to see Woodland Road reduced to one lane as indicated on the map below. This work is scheduled to begin as early as March 24 and is expected to remain in place through May.

--Utility Work to Continue--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, continues work to replace a sanitary sewer pipeline located along Wythe Creek Road. This work should take place primarily during daytime hours. Due to the nature of this upcoming work, some periods of 24/7 “around the clock” work may be required to install the utility pipeline.

CHESAPEAKE – HRSD has received the Army Corps of Engineers Incident Report detailing the Friday, March 11, 2023 incident that resulted in an HRSD 20-inch cast iron force main becoming compromised and discharging 2.5 million gallons of wastewater into the canal at the Great Bridge Lock.
