This replacement project will also improve the system’s performance and ensure continued, reliable sewer service in the future. Construction Notice Update #16A for the City of Newport News - February 2024

--Well Installation Update for Well #9 (DATE Change)--

 

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is undertaking improvements for the James River Treatment Plant SWIFT project. Due to a construction delay, the 24-hour construction dates at well site#9 have changed and the 24-hour operations will take place on Monday, February 26th, Tuesday, February 27th or Wednesday, February 28th.  For a map of well site #9 please see the back of this notice.

Notice to Neighbors - February 16, 2024

HRSD, in partnership with the City of Newport News, is constructing a walking trail along Flax Mill Creek. During construction, an unanticipated burial site was identified. Due to this discovery, construction in the area was halted and coordination with the City of Newport News Archaeologist, City of Newport News Police and Medical Examiner, and Department of Historic Resources has been on-going. The area of discovery was initially inspected by the City of Newport News Archaeologist.
