HRSD is assisting the Town of Onancock and Accomack County to replace nearly 800 water meters. The existing meters may be outdated or in questionable condition. The new meters will feature automated readings to improve accuracy and efficiency. They will be owned and operated by the Town of Onancock and the County of Accomack and billed by HRSD on their behalf. Residents will receive a combined bill that includes water usage, other locality charges, and HRSD’s wastewater treatment charges.

Traffic Advisory - July 18, 2025

 

SUFFOLK – Motorists are advised that HRSD will begin overnight work to install a light pole along I-664 South. This work will require closure of the southbound right lane and right shoulder of I-664 just north of the Armstead Road Overpass to near Exit 8A (College Drive). Exit 8A will remain open. The closure will take place between 8:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, and Friday, July 18. For more information, please refer to the map below.

News Release - July 8, 2025

 

NEW YORK -- HRSD conducted a successful sale of the $224 million Subordinate Wastewater Revenue Bonds, Series 2025A (the Bonds) on July 8, 2025.  The bond sale acts as a “bridge loan” resulting in a net present value savings estimated at $10.71 million relative to an existing federally subsidized loan program that HRSD previously closed on in 2024.  

HRSD plans on paying off the Bonds with this loan program one year from now when they mature.

This work will require closure of the southbound right lane and right shoulder of I-664 beginning before the Armstead Road Overpass and continuing to near Exit 8A (College Drive).
