Governance

The HRSD Commission, an eight-member board appointed to four-year terms by the Governor of Virginia, meets monthly to set policy and decide budget matters. The Commission is charged with managing and controlling the functions, affairs and property of the Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD).

SUFFOLKHRSD signed a three-party Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Korean Water Resources Corporation (K-Water) and Wintec Glovis this week, formally partnering to pilot their superheated steam-based granular activated carbon reactivation technology at the SWIFT Research Center, becoming the first organization in the United States to pilot test the eco-friendly process.

Traffic Advisory - December 28, 2025

CHESAPEAKE – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews are performing emergency sanitary sewer repairs requiring lane closures at the intersection of Cedar Road and Country Club Boulevard.

During this work, the oustide eastbound through lane on Cedar Road and the right turn lane to southbound Country Club Boulevard will be closed to safely perform the repairs.

These lane closures are expected to remain in place through Tuesday, December 30, while repairs are completed.
