HAMPTONHRSD was notified this morning of a sewage leak on Westminster Drive in Hampton. Operations crews determined the leak to be the result of a force main failure. Flows were diverted and the force main was isolated in order to stop the leak.

HRSD crews were able to repair the 12” cast iron line and return it to service this afternoon. There were no service disruptions and no injuries. The total spill volume has not been finalized.

Traffic Advisory Update - June 12, 2018

VIRGINIA BEACH – Motorists are advised that HRSD is scheduled to perform maintenance within portions of its sanitary sewer force main along Shore Drive during overnight hours beginning 8:00 p.m. tonight, June 12 through 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 13 and continuing nightly through Friday, June 15. Additional hours of work may occur as needed between 9:00 a.m. and noon Wednesday, June 13 through Friday June 15. Traffic controls will be utilized during the overnight work hours and removed each morning.

During this time, traffic controls will be utilized during the overnight work hours and removed each morning. No work over the Memorial Day holiday weekend will occur.
