Traffic Advisory Update - August 23, 2018

CHESAPEAKE - HRSD has completed repairs to the sanitary sewer pipeline on Kempsville Road between Volvo Parkway and Hunningdon Lakes Boulevard and has returned the line to service, thus ending the pumping and hauling of flow to nearby pump stations. Roadway and site restoration is now underway.

The right and center southbound lanes remain closed in that area to allow for roadway restoration. These lanes may be reopened as early as Saturday, August 25.

Traffic Advisory Update - August 21, 2018

CHESAPEAKE - The right and center southbound lanes on Kempsville Road from Volvo Parkway to just south of Hunningdon Lakes Boulevard remain closed for emergency repairs to the sanitary sewer force main in that area. The left southbound lane remains open to through traffic.

As a precaution, residents in the Greenbrier East neighborhood should continue to avoid contact and use of the waters from the stormwater retention ponds located within that neighborhood until further notice.

News Release - August 14, 2018

 

SUFFOLK, VA – HRSD will resume replenishment of the Potomac Aquifer with drinking water quality SWIFT Water as early as August 20. Recent groundwater sample readings taken on August 12 indicated less than half of the maximum contaminant limit (MCL) for nitrite. As reported on August 6, elevated nitrite levels were discovered in 11 of 15 SWIFT Water samples taken in June.
