Public Meeting Notice - April 27, 2022
New meeting time will be observed for Commission meetings held from May through August 2022
VIRGINIA BEACH – The HRSD Commission has temporarily changed its monthly meeting time from 9 am to 10 am for Commission meetings beginning May 24, 2022 and continuing through the regularly scheduled August 2022 meeting. The HRSD Commission meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month, except for December when the Commission meets on the third Tuesday.

CHESAPEAKE – HRSD crews worked through the night to repair a 36-inch force main failure that occurred early Saturday morning near 3025 Gum Court in Chesapeake, finalizing repairs and stopping the leak early Sunday morning. Initial assessments indicate external corrosion as the cause of damage and resulting leak. The preliminary estimated volume of wastewater spilled is approximately 500,000 gallons.

CHESAPEAKE – HRSD crews are responding to a force main failure near 3025 Gum Court in Chesapeake, just west of Interstate 664. The 36-inch line failure was reported early Saturday morning and is affecting a tributary of Drum Point Creek. This force main conveys wastewater to HRSD's Nansemond Treatment Plant in Suffolk.

VIRGINIA BEACH – HRSD/HRUBS will resume assessing late fees against unpaid balances beginning May 2022. Water service shut-offs for non-payment of delinquent bills resumed the week of April 4, 2022, lifting a two-year moratorium established due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
