HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility is planning a project in your neighborhood to replace and/or rehabilitate existing pipe in several locations in West Point, Virginia and Urbanna, Virginia. This project will improve the sewer system’s performance and ensure continued, reliable sewer service in the future. The answers to some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are provided here.
Project Overview
--Pump Station Preparation Work to Begin--
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will begin work to install a new sanitary sewer pump station and rehabilitate existing sanitary sewer pipes and manholes in the Phoebus neighborhood. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, has begun work to install a sanitary sewer pipeline along Wythe Creek Road. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
NEWPORT NEWS –Motorists are advised that HRSD crews will be installing sanitary sewer pipelines on northbound West Avenue between 26th and 28th Streets and between 31st and 33rd Streets as part of the West Avenue Sanitary Sewer Replacement project. During this work, motorists can follow a signed detour using Washington Avenue as well as 25th, 28th, 29th, and 35th Streets as indicated on the map below.
