December Project Update – December 2023
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is planning a project in your neighborhood to replace the existing HRSD sanitary sewer pipelines that are nearing the end of their useful life. This replacement project will also improve the system’s performance and ensure continued, reliable sewer service in the future. Project Overview
Public Invited to Attend Briefing
NEWPORT NEWS -- HRSD will hold its annual meeting to review the status of the Integrated Plan/Regional Wet Weather Management Plan (RWWMP) at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2024. The meeting will provide information about the extensive cooperation between HRSD and the localities it serves, as well as the steps residents in the region can take to help protect public waterways.

--Utility Work--
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is undertaking a project to replace valves and associated piping, near the intersection of Commander Shepard Boulevard and Bellgrade Drive. This effort will provide HRSD flexibility to make changes to the systems operation during maintenance or emergencies. The work will take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will begin work to install a sanitary sewer pipeline near the intersection of Robin Hood Road and Jersey Avenue. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday – Friday.
--Pavement Restoration Work--
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will be restoring the pavement following the replacement of sanitary sewer pipelines along Indian Summer Drive (please refer to the map on the back of this notice for the extents of work). The work will take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
