NEWPORT NEWS -- HRSD will hold its annual meeting to review the status of the Integrated Plan/Regional Wet Weather Management Plan (RWWMP) at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at HRSD’s North Shore Operations Center at 2389 G Avenue, Newport News, Virginia. The meeting will take place in the second floor conference room.

Work rescheduled for January 26 - 27

VIRGINIA BEACH – HRSD has postponed scheduled maintenance work within portions of its sanitary sewer force main along Independence Boulevard due to weather. The maintenance work planned along Independence Boulevard southbound between Jericho Road and Broad Street has been rescheduled for 9:00 p.m. Friday, January 26 and continuing through 9:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27.

VIRGINIA BEACH – Motorists are advised that HRSD is scheduled to perform maintenance within portions of its sanitary sewer force main along Kempsville Road in the cities of Chesapeake and Virginia Beach on Monday, January 22 and Tuesday, January 23 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day as follows:

SUFFOLK – Motorists are advised that HRSD is scheduled to perform maintenance within portions of its sanitary sewer force main along Town Point Road in Suffolk on Wednesday, January 24 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

During this time, the northbound lane of Town Point Road will be closed at Judah Lane. Motorists will continue to have access to Town Point Road at a reduced capacity while the maintenance is performed. This work is weather dependent and subject to change or require additional time.

VIRGINIA BEACH – HRSD postponed Tuesday’s scheduled maintenance within portions of its sanitary sewer force main along Kempsville Road in Virginia Beach due to weather. The maintenance work planned for Kempsville Road between Beaufain Boulevard and Lion’s Way will be performed on Wednesday, January 24 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

SUFFOLK –HRSD has postponed scheduled maintenance within portions of its sanitary sewer force main along Town Point Road in Suffolk due to weather. The work planned for Town Point Road at Judah Lane has been rescheduled for Thursday, January 25 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting.

VIRGINIA BEACH – Motorists are advised that HRSD is scheduled to perform overnight maintenance within portions of its sanitary sewer force main in the cities of Portsmouth and Norfolk this week as follows:

Portsmouth – The two northbound lanes of Effingham Street will be closed at County Street from 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 31 until 5:00 a.m. Thursday, February 1. Through-traffic on Effingham Street will be shifted to the left turn lane to proceed.

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, continues work to upgrade its pump station located near the intersection of Bob White Lane and Shoulders Hill Road. This work is part of a federally mandated consent decree with a deadline of February 28, 2018. This work is situation and weather dependent and should not affect your water or sewer services.
